HOT SPOTS of biodiversity are areas that are severely threatened by human activities .these are areas with exceptional scientific interest .
25 regions have been declared as hotspots.They cover 1.4%of the total earth surface.15 occur in tropical forest ,5 hotspots occur in Mediterranean type and rest of the hot spots are islands.
Few mentioned are:Tropical andes Caribbean,CentralChile,Newzealand,Brazil,Philippines,Polynesia.
